Anyone know whats wrong? error code p1698

I am having a hard time with my 02 caravan. I first started noticing that my shifter indicater lights were all light up, I couldn't tell what gear I was in. Then I was on my way home and the engine light came on and the van acted like it was gonna die. So I parked it, and a friend of mine came and scannedthe code for me. I took it to a local shop and I've used them before. It has been there for 3 weeks and he put a new TCM in he thought that would fix my problem. So I call him the next day and he said that did not fix it and he was not able to fix it! He also said that the ABS sensor was not responding I have no idea what is wrong with it! I cannot find any info on my subject can someone please help me! I am ready to junk this thing!
