This is an Italeri 4 wheel drive 109" LWB kit I bought on Ebay. I am not completely finished with this kit yet. I still have many extra accessories to add, which I'm waiting on. I call this little vignette is called 'Proud'. The African driver is proud of how he managed to pack his entire belongings in one go.
The idea comes from looking at many pictures of various overloaded vehicles from around the world. Some more rediculous than others. I am adding another figure of a guy taking a pic of the African driver and his personal belongings.

Do an internet search for overloaded vehicles and you will rethink your comment. ;)
No need to do an internet search I know what you probably refers to, but if you did it you probably have noticed than most overloaded african vehicles are trucks not land rover !! :loser: :grinyes:
and I confirm my comment, the big black "don't know what" in the middle to give volume is PROBABLY too much...
The TV on the top is great though !

True but there are always the odd one that has a Land Rover. Now Africa is a big continent. Just because you don't see one does not mean it doesn't exist. ;) Thanks regardless.

just as doing it doesn't mean it trully exists !! and just in case yo uread and understand what I say, I said MOST not NONE !! :sly:  :grinno:
but if a Peugeot can do THAT !! (http://imod.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/overloaded-car.jpg) a land rover probbaly can do it as well !
more seriously I wasn't criticizing the accuracy or doubting of the real possible existence of your inspiration as you seem believe it but only wanted to notice that the big black trick in the middle instead of details (see peugeot's pic above) give a too much effect like if you absolutely wanted to occupy more space than really needed...
... As long as you're willing to hear something else than purely positive feedbacks and we still dare to say what we really think about it !!! :banghead: :banghead:
and that said, I swear that the next time I want to post comment to a newbie, I turn off the computer !! :sly: :disappoin

I am not arguing your knowledge in the matter at all. I can take either positive or negative comments. :) I'm not saying vehicles like this can take the load. I'm just referring to what I have seen. I've tried posting pics of some very similar vehicles with worst off weight handling capability, but for some reason the admin has to ok it. It's been some hours now and it is not added to the post yet.
I am not arguing with you so please do not think so. I am just stating how some vehicles whether or not they are suitable for this kind of weight handling, have been seen with worst loads than what I have modeled -and they are not trucks. That's all I'm saying. :)

that's precisely the main problem, since my comment you're only taking it and arguing as if it was an accuracy question whereas I'm only talking about the feeling I have regarding your model.
I think it's a bit too much not because I think that doesn't or can't exist but simply because it's my feeling and I want to give honest opinion and objective comments...!!

I live out here, and IMHO this represents reality.
Admittedly around here the most overloaded vehicles are the minibus taxis (Toyota HiAce) and small pickup trucks, but anything is possible, including old Landrovers.
The big black object could be anything, and yes, I've seen many objects like this. They are usually lounge furniture (sofas, chairs) that the driver has picked up for one of his passengers who would be transporting it home from the city (where they work) to some rural village. The black plastic is spot on - that's pool liner which has been put over the precious cargo to protect it from late afternoon thunderstorms while traveling. Quite often you would see bicycles and huge bags of orange coloured crisps up there too.
The really amazing thing about these loads is that the traffic cops don't bat an eye when they go past. But you try driving by in your smart car while talking on your mobile (no, I don't) and in seconds you'll have one leaning through your window telling you how steep the fine can be, "but actually I'm quite hungry and thirsty, do you get my meaning and ..."
