Does anyone know which tie rods go on a 98 s-10 blazer 2dr with v6 and 4x4?went to change outer on passenger side and it is slightly diff from driver side. Parts guy said there are two different outer tie rods :1st design and 2nd design. I just need to know which is the correct one. If someone has an a/c deco part # It would be a big help. Hopefully this makes sense and thanks.

did you take them in and see if they had same curve or may be straight and then make sure threads on tie rods threads are running in same direction. other than call a dealer and go by vin number.

good luck.....

To get the correct one you first have to give the correct information.
In your case.
First and second design is determined by the {build date} on the door sticker.
Called a mid year change.:lol2:
Give that info to your parts people when getting parts.
And he should be able to take it from there.
But when you get the part have a look and see if right one.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks guys that some info I didn't know. The whole stare and compare doesn't work in this situation. The driver side outer tie rod(for arguments sake I'll say it's early design) does not match the passenger side outer tie rod and I have not replaced it yet. I was just wondering if 1: this is correct, early design on driver side second design on pass side OR 2: last person that changed them messed up and one of each on.
And this is the problem I'm having, don't know which one should be there. But I think I have the correct info now and I'll take that info to parts guy. Thanks guys let ya know how it goes

some tire rods may have a diffirent shape from side to side. look at autozone.com and compare the part number or you can just call i believe there diffirent part numbers but you should see if there diffirent angles on them like i said before.

good luck....

Make shure you check the idler arm also. If you can grab linkage near idler arm and it has play more than a 1/4 inch then it should be changed also. The idler arm is the one than is bolted to the frame.
