This may have been asked before, but what kits do you wish would be re-released?
The reason I ask is that last year when the Tamiya McLaren M-8 was re-released it got me by suprise. I didn't even know they had made it in the past!
So what other kits are no longer made, that you wish would come back?

My area of interest is Motor Sport.

From Tamiya:

Racing Ford Sierras
Escort RS Rally cars (all of 'em)
1/12 Ferrari F190

Hasegawa:

All the Group C cars (including the Mazda 767b)

Just my $0.02...

Seeing how the Tamiya NSX-R is getting reissued, that is already half of my wish came true.

Otherwise, the Tamiya Grand Cherokee would be another good kit to reissue, so that I can get a replacement for my broken windshield.

I think I'm lucky in that a lot of what I wanted have actually been re-issued or re-mastered by someone else.
The only thing that is really missing in my collection is a Hasegawa 944s (not the turbo) and 968 (and Clubsport).
ESCI's (or whoever originated it) BMW M1 road car would be nice too.

Hi guys,

Here are a couple still on my wish list. I know the Dax(high on my wish list) and the Yardley Mclaren are re-released soon, but would love to see the Lotus 49 and 72D to be re-released. Also a re-release of the Revell Ford Escort rally would be great too.

I would love to see the Tamiya BTCC Volvo wagon and sedan back.

Wouldn't mind the racing Sierra's too, so I could build some of the Australian Touring car versions again.

Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 72 and Ferrari 312B re-issue with P/E and cartograf Decals would be a must have too.

Regards, Dan

Since it's a wish list, how about Protar's Alpha Romeo 179 and McLaren Mp 4/2 in 1/12.

Hasegawa didn't make the S, but it's two different package designs of the same Turbo, Turbo racing and cabriolet molds. Italeri did release the S, but IIRC, it only includes 8 valve head parts, instead of the 16v in the real S and S2, so I don't think the kit is worth the money. Hasegawa's 968 kit has 16v parts even though it's a modified reissue of the 944 kit.

My wish list is going to become zero thanks to the reissue of the SLR Uhlenhaut kit, but I'm interested in Tamiya's D-Type slot car and body, and also Corrado is tempting...

sorry for the brief hi-jack.

so you mean that if I wanted to have a correct 944S, I'd need the hardly ever seen 968 kit as well as the 944 kit?
i.e the 944S kit is sorta useless without the 968.
great...

Tamiya's campus friends figure set, and from Fujimi a New Mini with the sunroof, LHD and JCW package please, that would be the "Italian Job, Stella Bridger New Mini".
Some of the Revell 'tuner' series cars, some of the AMT/MPC 80's Chevy PU kits, there's bound to be some more.

Mercedes 190 Evo2 would be great.
Some old rally cars, too.
Tamiya already plans to re-release the Renault 5 Turbo. If only other ones could follow...

I like to see again from Eidai/Grip on 1/8 scale the Lotus 72D and the Mc Laren M23,
from Doyusha the Lancia Stratos in 1/12 and from Revell/Monogram the Camaro and
Corvette in 1/12 and the whole range of 1/8 US cars Corvette's Camaro and Firebird.
Dream on....

I do hope so! Had a quick google search but only found the 1:10 RC decals. I know that this kit does appear for sale now and again, but I don't want to risk making a mess with old decals falling apart (as happened when I recently built the regular road version), especially when they are so prominent.

Oh, and another for the reissue list is the Bandai / Entex 1:16 '37 Packard roadster and saloon.

For me I would like Tamiya re-issue/re-release the old civilian cars from item 24001 to 24150. There're tons of great old civilian cars, such as Honda Prelude XX, Mercedes-Benz 500SEC, Porsche 911 Speedster and BMW 325i.

I'd like to see the Tamiya Mazdza 787B again and the Fujimi Lancia Stratos EM would be nice.

EDIT: ...and How about another pop of that Gunze Low Tech version of the Jaguar E-Type. Still the best body in 1/24th and getting precious!

I think what Tamiya should re-release to the rest of the world is the Opel Calibra kit of 'Opel-i-line(the body shape is wrong for the decals but who cares) & the UPS Mercedes, they were only released in Germany.
I too also think the Ford Sierra's & the Escort's should come back!
