Shocks Recommendation needed

I need to replace the shocks on my 2000 Bravada. Now has Bilsteins and has a VERY Harsh ride. Not sure if the harsh and brittle ride is from the current shocks being too stiff or just worn out.

Want my new ones to have a nice soft ride. Thought maybe I'd try Rancho's because they were great on my F150.

Check the specs and paperwork that come with new shocks.

Shocks come in many brands and flavors.
Smooth highway ride to teeth jarring off road rides.

For good smooth ride stay close to the OEM shocks.

Gabriel /Monroe /Bilsteins are all good brands.

I doubt the shocks are wore out giving a stiff ride. wore out shock as a rule cause floating & rattle.
I have 14 years &163,000 miles on my Blazer OEM shocks & they are still OK. Gas shocks last a long time unless you break them or get a leak. My Jeep went 12 years &120,000 on OEM shocks.
If you want a softer ride buy a set of cheap Monroe gas shocks. They ride good & are like $17 each from Rockauto.com. I just put a set on my Jeep GC 5.9 Limited.

What did you have to pay for the KYBs??
My stock shocks are still holding up. They were an upgrade from the factory they are orange in color. I think the tow package gave it a different shock from the factory.

Mine were only 20 bucks for the pair which included shipping. I got them from E-Bay. Normally they are about 25 bucks from your local parts store. They are touted as an OE replacement.

I just put KYB Gas-a-Just shocks on all 4 corners on my Bravada. I had the factory shocks on it with almost 120k on them and these KYB made a world of difference. The gas a just once are a bit more (about $45 per shock) but well worth it I think since I tow quite a bit.

KYB are just a little bit more expensive than Monroe Gas shocks OEM replacements. That is a good price for them. I'm not for paying a high price for shocks unless I going to run real hard off-road a lot. I use to use Rancho & ProComp Shocks a lot in the past on my off-road 4x4s. I still have a set of Pro Comp ES9000s on my F250 4x4.

I bought a 1998 Bravada 2 days ago. Suspension is very stiff. Just ordered AC-Delco shocks, I will let you know how they do.
