Hey all,
I have a 97 Catera with the bose system. Its all stock. Anyway, I will soon by buying a couple of subs to put in the trunk, and I was wondering how I would go about hooking these up to my stereo. If anyone here can help me, or knows a website I can go to find help, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, what do you all think would be a good combination of subs and amps for me 2 use?

Thanks
Andy

If youre stock headunit has preamp outputs, then all you need a basic amp kit with rca cables to hook the amp up to the head unit, but if it doesnt, you will need a line converter. All of these items can be found at crutchfield.com, and they also have detailed instructions on how to install amps and such on their site too. If you have any other questions, just ask, but you should also try termpro.com, that forum has tons ands tons of really knowledgeable people on this subject. If you tell me your price range for amp and subs i should be able to suggest something good for you. Also, are you going for sound quality of spl?

Line level converters are definately not a good idea. you will have engine noise and it wont sound nearly as good as it could. do the right thing and get an aftermarket cd player.

Yeah I'll second that opinion.
