'05 Suburban Z71 "Service 4wd"

I have a 2005 Suburban Z71 and recently the "service 4wd" message appears. It seems to be running fine but this morning none of the lights for 2wd, 4wd are lit up. What could be the problem, and more importantly will it be safe to drive until I take it to the Chevy garage on Monday?

Could be the 4x4 switch... you can get a replacement off of ebay for pretty cheap (otherwise if you know someone who has the same kind of vehicle with the same 4x4 selector switch you can see if it fixes the problem.)
