post your specs and lets see who has the most "bling bling." can anybody beat this (not mine, but a friend's):
3 2000 W / 2 800 W Crossfire Amps powering 6 15" DDs in back, 4 10" subs between the middle seats, and 2 10" subs in the doors, all controlled by a pioneer cd/dvd player with a total of 3 screens.
isn't that some crazy shit? i know that's probably more than most of you all, but post your big power setup anyway, especially if you can rival this.

It's not always how many subs you have it's also got alot to do with enclosure size, interior volume of said vehicle, and tuning. the LOUDEST vehicle i have ever heard was a caprice classic wagon It consisted of 8 15" kicker solobarics this was the first year for the sqaure sub and had yet to be designated L5 or L7. For amps it had 8 kicker zr600's. On the meter it hit a 163.5 hence the S/N it was my first comp vehicle and to say the least in 2000 i crushed everything that moved in the tri-state area. IT was hella loud but Sound Qaulity was not factored in. the system you see in my signature hits 149.5-9 and has ok sound quality as for multiple scrns i don't play that shit one in the dash fuck the passengers!

This sounds very similar to what mine will be when I finish everything, 4 audiobahn 5 1/4s though and 2 15" audiobahn subs
P.S. thanks for the amp, that is exactly what I am looking for, I think. nope one ohm stable... crap I'll have to go A2300HC

We have a kid at our school that had one 12" solobaric square sub, and with only that and factory speakers he got 147. somthing decibels, then another kid has a 12 inch alpine, not sure what it is, and then two other 10s and he measure 149, i think he had upgraded 6 by 9's not that they made too much difference though. And wasn't the record broken just not too long ago with the new 18 inch solobarics, one of my friends said it broke the record by having 10 of them and it was broken by one tenth of a decibel.

You'll never, or better yet, no one will ever surpass 230 db's with car audio, a shuttle on take off is only 180 db's, and that's fucking loud. If you were to maybe build a 6 ft subwoofer that could handle about a billion watts, but I'd like to see you power that. I'm not sure I'm correct on this, but with one decibel higher it's twice the sound, so 179 db's would be twice as loud as 178 or something like that.

loudest is Team BS using 16 Treo CSX with 64 Directed 1100D hitting 177.7db on the B7K mic, considered the most accurate mic available today. each sub is getting about 4400 watts, which the sub has more potential.

every 10dB is twice as loud, and every 3dB takes twice as much power to make

I think the dB record stands at just over 180 .... and that's gonna be about it, at least with modern speakers. A guy tried making a 6' woofer, he put it in a truck like a UPS truck .... he had some technical difficulties. One of the problems of high volume is preventing the body of the vehicle from flexing - body flexing absorbs audible energy.

That's the highest sound pressure that our atmosphere will support. If you went to another planet with a denser atmosphere or you were in a hyperbolic chamber then you could go higher, but here on Earth that's the loudest possible.

well audiobahn in my opinion is crap, but some people on here think that it is a good starter brand, which i disagree on. they are made for one reason to get loud, they subs are made for only spl, their sq line is laughable, and their amps are big peices of crap.....conclusion much better for the money......
p.s. audiobahn spends a hell of alot on advertising so thats why you always see them in car audio mags, and lowrider mags, etc.... just becuase they have more ads doesn't make them good

Scott Owens broke the all time db record with 180db the equivalent to a ton of tnt exploding 15 foot away(loud as crap)
he is sponsored by pioneer and he used 12 premier 12's and 54 amps and a ship load of kinetic batteries
that is the loudest score in DB DRAG
in bass race
Tommy Mckennie using 24 re se 12's and 12 incriminator audio 20.1's and alot of power master batteries
broke a 158 at 40 hz(or i think that is what it was)
and those are the world records in sound
and to what ever idiot said his goal was 230 db i must inform you that cannot be done on this planet!!!!

that's the problem with the upper levels of competitions ...... most of the winners are pushing the limits of their category/class already. You can do alright at local contests with a decent setup, but you are never gonna be really competitive at the national level ones unless you have all the right stuff and have optimized your setup.
