hey I got a 2002 eclipse gs and it wont let me pump gas into it at the pump, it was fine before I went on deployment but when I got back I had trouble, its only got 82,000 miles on it and I hooked a obdbII up to it and no codes came back, now its starting to run rough at acceleration. Got any Ideas??

Can you tell us more about it not letting you pump gas in it. Seems like that would be an obstruction of some sort in the fuel tank fuel fill neck.

Aside from that thank you for what you do for us here at home while on deployment and god bless!

How long did the car sit?

It sat for nine months and ran great before i left but there is a gurgling sound coming from the tank not all the time but every now and then it starts to make that sound then it lags on acceleration like its not getting enough gas to the injectors. Im thinking the fuel filter but that doesnt explain why it wont take gas?

You have something in the main filler hose or the vent hose. 9mths that is way to long you need to change the filter and get rid of that gas. When you do fill it up again put the best grade that you can back in it to help clean the injectors and such. Do you have any pressure build up when you pull the gas pump handle out \? If you are saying that the pumps shuts off like when your tank is full maybe it is, and you have a stuck gauge. Or it has somthing in the filler hose that goes to the tank.

p.s If it is fuel injected you can disconnect the filter and hook a hose on the the fuel line and step on the gas pedal to empty the tank so you don't have to drop the tank.

nah I can only get about .50 cents in it when it shuts off and it takes me about 15 min. to get ten dollars in it, i think the vent might be clogged but tom Im going to replace the filter and check the fuel lines out, still not sure what that bubbling noise is coming from the tank but ill know tom. when i pull it apart

found out what it was apparently I made an enemy some where along the line, I pulled the rubber hose that connects to the tank from the filler line and that bown and strainer were full of wood it looked like mulch thats why the pump was making that noise and why I couldnt get gas into it.

Good I guess.\? At least you know what it was. but ditch the fuel man or if tank is low put 93 in and like seafoam.

That or a very clever little pack rat. Glad to hear you have it sorted out.
