Brake pad part help

anyone know what these are called or where I can get them? They go on the ends of the brake pads(2 per pad), for some reason they are missing on mine and I think that is why my brakes are so noisy. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 2001 GMC Jimmy 4X4, front brakes.

It's a "brake wear indicator" AKA Squealer, you can get a set of them in a brake hardware kit from your local parts store for about $10.

It also keeps the pad from rattling in the bracket. There should be one clip on each end of each pad. After installing them on the pads, clean the slots in the caliper bracket with a wire brush and put some brake lube in the slots, then install the pads.
