Drivers door window regulator

Drove it for the first time on the highway yesterday. When I went thru the McD's for a drink the temp gauge was about 5/8 of the way across. AF is newer and full, but you know I never did hear the fans kick on. Back on the highway it went back down again. Outside temp was about 75 or so. Thermostat was replaced a couple years ago. Shouldn't the fans be on? When I got home and shut it down, they weren't on then either. :eek:

Yes the coolant fans should come on at a certain temp. You need to check the fuses, relay and check to make sure the fans do work by making sure they have curren to them. I would take a ccouple of wires and makes sure they work, then fo from there. Could also be a faulty ECT. For some reason the thread title on the list does not match question.

Do the fans work when you turn on the AC??

Fan will work with a/c only when a/c head pressure hits 175 psi-- is your a/c up to snuff?

The fans turn on at low-speed around 223 degrees and high-speed at around 230. Parked and idling with the heater off should eventually bring the temperature up high enough to turn the low-speed fans on.
Depending on sensor/gauge accuracy it may be closer to the 3/4 mark.

To test the fans, disconnect the connector at the coolant temperature sensor located at the thermostat housing. Start the engine, after a slight delay both fans should come on at high-speed (CTS fail mode).
