Can the shift position be temporarily bypassed ?

A 1997 Cadillac Deville won't start and it has been diagnosed as failure in the shift position indication - the key turns, battery is good, etc.. but does not crank in park or neutral - no crank - no click - no nothing. Is it possible to temporarily jumper and bypass this switch to get the car started and driven to a repair shop? I have used a hidden bypass button on a Corolla to accomplish this and avoid a tow charge.

Jump 12v to the starter solenoid, if you can get to it, N'Star may be hard to access or jump around at the connector at the trans position switch, you will need to know which wire of course.
