1999 Cavalier Wheel bearing problem

I am changing the wheel bearing in my 1999 cavalier. The problem I am having is getting the drive axle to come out of the hub. Have tried tapping it with a punch like Haynes says, and I also tried the 2 jaw puller method they discuss. Neither worked for me. The drive axle still won't budget. Does anyone have any other suggestions? :banghead:
