Hi,
I have a '97 PA w/153,000mi and the radiator finally gave out. Is the removal and installation something I can handle, or is it really difficult and I'd need all sorts of special tools? I've been looking through this and other sites for help, but haven't really found any detailed info. Coolant was leaking beneath the upper radiator hose, so I took the hose off and couldn't see anything. Seems to only leak when I turn the car off. I'm thinking the plastic tank is cracked and opens when it's under pressure. Do I have to take the cooling fans off? I know I need to take the hood latch bracket off, but what else? What are the replacement costs for a radiator? 3.8L V6 engine.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Found out that the radiator for my vehicle is not made anymore, so I had to buy the new type. The new type did not have the clips for the old style of fan shroud, so I had to buy an new shroud with fans. A simple job turned into major $, also my mechanic noticed my intake gasket was leaking and had never been replaced. GM had a "class action" law suit covering this item, but of course, my car was never taken in for the repair, so now it cost me more $. Needless to say, a minor problem turned into a major expense. It's done now and the mechanic said it should last another 150,000 miles or more. Glad I get over 30 mpg on this car. Maybe it will cover some of those expenses over time.
Have a great day,
