Toyota Recall on 08 T4R

I received a letter from Toyota about a recall they issued for 2003 through 2008 4Runners. Apparently they want to "modifiy" the gas pedal and may replace the all weather mats I bought when I purchased the vehcle back in 08.

Question. Has anyone had this "moficiation" done on their vehicle? I've heard that all they do is cut about 1/2" off the bottom of the pedal. I'm thinking that they're offering the replacement mats to draw people in to get this done. I've never had any issues or problems with the gas pedal, but I could use a replacement set of all weather mats.

Thoughts? Experiences?

It appears that they are worried about interference of the gas pedal with the floor mats. I bet the new mats are modified to minimize the possibility of interference with the gas pedal.

Go for it...

I called teh dealer and was told that they would cut off about 1/8" of the gas pedal...you've got to be kidding...
