03 hard to shift

i like to know my friend has a 2003 sunfire with the ecotec motor clutch a little weak but within reason but trying to shove it in gear is hard u cant shift any gears with just a finger pull u gotta force it in even when cluch pressed right to the floor

what could that be how u fix that?
