then I use scratch X, I find with the scratch X you need to apply about 3 or 4 times to get it glass smooth

Fantastic finish on this. How did you do the scripts and emblems? They look very precise. Also do the tires come with the red stripe or did you paint those?

Hi. My first post here. Amazing job, and i love the actual car too. I can read the instructions over the finish of the model! Did you polished alu paint for the trims? There´s a nice glow there and you don´t mention bmf nor alclad.
I spent the last 2 days reading howtos on AF about finishing the body. Most suggest to "scratch X" before polishing, but you mention the inverse process. How´s that? I expected scratch X to give a rougher finish to be polished later.
I´m asking this because up to now i just got a body finish similar to your first pic, after a lot of cream polishing, long enough to get to the plastic in some edges :/ (did not use primer yet... my bad)
Also, I use a cotton ball for the polishing cream. What should i use for scratch X (or other cutting paste)?

@quadzero
the emblems and marker lights are all kit decals, the redlines are also decals from the kit the kit has marker lights for the "427" and "396" versions
@Marianitem
the trim is BMF, after I apply it I polish the car once more including the BMF to make it all clean.
my method of polishing is simple and cheap.
after painting, I apply around 3 or 4 coats of clear. I use krylon spray paint clear. I just let it sit for 24 hours. then I take 2000 grit sandpaper and sand the whole car to remove any orange peel, you want to sand and wipe it dry, and sand until you don't see any glossy spot, then you know its completely smooth. then rinse it off with water.
Next I apply the scratch X, I use an old cotton t-shirt, just rub it on all over the car, let it dry and go back over it with a clean section of the cloth. then repeat as many times as it takes to get the finish like a mirror. I normally have to do it 4 times.
