Starting problem

I have a 1994 jetta and I am having problems starting it...i just had the transmission replaced and when I went to the machanic to pick it up he said he couldnt start it and the only way to get it running was by him jumping the starter its been 3 days since i have had the car back and i cant figure it out any opinions?

you need a volt meter and make sure you are getting the correct voltage to the starter. It could also be the ground wire. Does it turn over at all or nothing when you turn the key???

IF IT TURNS OVER BUT IT IS SLOW AND WONT START i GUESS IT IS A CABLE.

If nothing happens when you turn the key it may be something else
