Driver side window was going down fine but would struggle to go up.....now it doesn't work at all. no up or down. could it be the switch or is it the motor in the door? I tried to get to the switches on the dash but couldn't get the panel off. any help would be great! thx

Come on, 19 people have read the post and no one has any idea of how to get to the window switches on the dash? I've taken out all the screws that i can see and still can't get it off. anyway ....please help!! gf is going nuts not being able to put down the window. she's a spitter and usually misses when she tries to spit it out the passenger side....lol :)

sounds like a window glide problem or a motor problem, check the wires for power before removing evrything

Usually on a CRV it's a window reg/motor issue. You are better off taking the door panel off so you can test for power at the motor while you move the switch. Once the door panel is off unplug the connector and check for power while you move the switch. You can also tap on the motor while moving the switch to see if the window moves. Chances are it will a few times and if this is the case you have confirmed the motor is shot. If I remember right, the last CRV window motor we did was expensive from Honda so we gave the customer of the option of going with an aftermarket one. We ended up getting it from Napa which came 2 ways. Motor only or Motor/reg. The motor and regulator was not much more. .

^^^ Good info, Also as a test you can apply battery voltage directly to the disconnected motor to see if it will move.

Keep both the upper and lower rubber tracks clean, and make sure the rubber is in the channel near the bottom (I had to tack my 05 Civics rubber into the channel with a spot of glue to make it stay) and also not deformed & binding the glass
