Chugging in the morning going uphill

Hey guys,

My '87 SW will start fine after a few cranks in the morning and drive. While it's still cold however, if I go up even the slightest incline it will start to chug and cough regardless of the amount of throttle I give it and I have to floor for a minute it to "clear" the carb and get it into a smooth rev.

Any ideas what could be the problem here?

Thanks,

Alex

check the choke pull off diaphram for vacuum leak...if this leaks your not getting enough air to the engine when cold..

when starting the hot engine no problem !
