Hatchback help, room for pit bull

Hey everyone, I need some help please! I am looking for a hatchback with rear folding seats that can accommodate my pit bull (I hate having hair all over my back seats all the time). However it needs to get decent gas mileage and be able to be purchased for $10,000 or less. I've been looking at Toyota matrix but would love some other ideas that might work. Thanks in advance!

Honda Civic hatch, Honda Accord wagon (there aren't many of these), Nissan Versa hatch/wagon (not sure which it would be found under), Subaru Outback wagon, Subaru Legacy wagon, Subaru Forester.

Although, honestly, my pittie mix sheds all over MORE when he's left to "fend for himself" on a flat surface like in the back of the Subaru. He's more calm in the back seat with a blanket or sheet over it than he is sliding across the smooth surface of the hatch. You're better off getting a GOOD backseat cover than buying a whole new car. ;) Try out In The Company of Dogs (http://www.inthecompanyofdogs.com) for some not too-expensive ideas.

I wanna see pics of your pit, btw! I love mine. His name is Andrew. :D
