Hello, I have a problem that I don't know how to fix. I traded my 97 civic bz for a 95 GST, I pretty much had to repeal the engine, repair 1st gear, replace the heater core, dash and a hunch of other little parts. I got it up and running with no leaks , recently I installed an A pillar gauge pod with air/fuel ratio, volt and boost gauges. I noticed that the air fuel gauge is showing red in the lean section, when I give it gas the light pretty much goes away them comes back, what can I do to enrich the system?

Is this a narrowband reading or a wideband? If it's a narrowband (using the stock sensor), the gauge is useless. It will bounce up and down, and not give you an accurate reading, since NBO2 will always give an up/down reading except at WOT.

How do you tell the difference between the two, I am new to the DSM world.

Did you just have to tap into the stock o2 sensor for the A/F gauge or did you install an aftermarket wideband o2 sensor into the exhaust? If you just tapped into the stock sensor signal, then it's a narrow band gauge and pretty much useless

Actually yeah, I just tapped into the factory O2, whats a good brand of wideband O2 to get, I saw a couple on ebay but not sure which one to get.

AEM makes a good dependable wideband O2 setup, they can be had for about $200 or so. I bought mine brand new for $180 and it was an AEM Uego Wideband o2.
