I have a very basic 89 chev c1500 with a tired V6 (many, many miles) and I am considering putting a V8 in its place. I habe rebuilt 6 of the 4.3's in the last year - they are easy. The truck has a 5 speed manual - no air.
I have a complete 1980, carbureted 4 barrel 350 that I can put in the newer truck.
If you have done something similar - here's the question - is it possible to use the throttle body from the 89 V6 on the 80 V8? I realize I might need to upsize the injectors - but will it function?

Far as I know, it's the same throttle body but with tiny injectors. Pop the injectors out, replace with 350-size (about 60 lbs/hr???) units, and you're set.
What cam in the 1980 engine? The TBI cams were ultra-mild; and I'd expect problems unless you use something similar.
You'll need a flywheel to match the engine, can't use the existing one.
