97 escort all windows won't work

Escort 97 sedan: Yesterday the windows didn't work early in the am, then started working 15 minutes into the drive & were fine the rest of the day. Today in the am none of them worked at all. Any ideas what the problem is & how I can fix it? MANY thanks!
Update: they started working again in the pm. Maybe a switch and not a fuse? Anyone?
