Subaru Legacy

Looking for any pictures of the Subaru Legacy from 1991 -1993, rally versions particularly the ones driven by Colin McRae. Also the various Manx International Rallies as well. Tarmac spec mainly. Tried all the usual searches and not yielded very much...

three more McRae pics found in my hard drive rally files, first from Portugal, two next from Corsica; the second one is particularely impressive, I'm really wondering what this idiot photographer could have on the pic but he almost got the car in the face !! :screwy: :disappoin

Thanks Phil some great pictures there and really appreciated. Maybe I hope you won't mind a question..?? In the 4th picture down, the one that shows the spare wheel in the boot. Is that a tarmac wheel..?? I have a feeling that Colin ran with those wheels on the Manx International Rally when the car was in the Rothmans colours. I've never seen those 7 spoke wheels in any kit or made by any after market supplier though..?? Any ideas..?? What I'm trying to do is build the Rothmans car in tarmac specs either from the Manx International or Rac Rally...

Then a question also. The blue is the same as used on the gr.A Imprezas I guess but the Colin's Corsica car looks different. Is it really different blue or is it just the photos or even my eyes? :confused:

as stated by O'Ranki yes those 7 spokes wheels are the first tarmac wheels Subaru used on the early years of the Legacy, before using 6 spokes (or even 5 as in 93 corsica ?? even didn't even noticed it before...) on the Impreza.
What I still haven't done is taking a look at my videos especially those from the Rothmans livery, to see what they used on the tarmac opening stages of the Rac rally.
most of my legacy kits are 1/43, I should verify which wheels are in.
I'll make Ari's Legacy, both from 91 & 92 RAC Rally, 92 1000 lakes and probably 93 Sweden but all at 1/43, will only build one or two at 1/24, still not decided which one(s), as I have the Rothamns decals too to eventually convert the 555 Hasegawa model I have...
Colin's legacy would of course interest me a lot !! I have diecast bases and decals...
Have to sort out everything to decide...

From what I know the blue color is the 555 color even when 555 sponsor is missing as in Corsica...
Those pics from Corsica are old paper pics scanned and probably retouched a bit... I found them on the net in the Corsica rally thread of a french forum.


Talking about Legacy, do someone have some pics about the Camel one driven by Eklund in 93 Sweden rally ??
I can't find some...

PS: should be interesting to find a 92/93 dashboard pic, because I'm not sure they always had the red metallic panels inside it...

try this site http://www.rallyretro.com/. Fergus has worked for years to build up this database of photo's which are mostly from Ireland with a few from further afield and is always looking for more. It is a great resource that throws up some real gems.
