From HLJ:
SLS AMG (July release) and 911 GT3R (May release).
http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ12392
and
http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ12390
Don't really see the need for an SLS given the excellent Revell, but the GT3R is pretty cool.

Is it just me or does it not look like the doors are able to open/close? That kinda sucks if it doesn't. It takes a bit away from the highlight features of the car (besides the engine) and gives a better selling point to the Revell AG version. :headshake

1/24 Lamborghini Aventador - December (yay!)
1/24 Mercedes SLS Safety Car - November (hope it's accurate)
1/24 Mugen Honda CR-Z - December
Aoshima
1/12 Honda '89 NSR250R SP - Decmeber
1/24 Skyline GT-R M-spec Nur. (BNR34) - November (done do death, isn't it?)
Hasegawa
1/12 Telefonica Movistar Honda NSR250 2001 - October
1/24 BMW Mini Cross Over (I guess it's the Countryman) - December

They're both Curbside.
A bit naff.
They also claim 'The first ever kit....'
Rubbish. The Revell kit has been out for months and is fantastic.

Booked the big bull, says it'll have openning doors, well, I guess we've gotten used to expect as less as possible from fujimi~ ;-) I only hope they get the shape right for a 5000 yen kit...

Wonder if the Aventador will have PE parts in the original release, if not then I'll wait for the customary DX version. I'm not a big fan of the car but I guess I have to have a kit of it :)

I expected the Aventador from Fujimi, as they are producing it in 1/43. If it has opening doors, hopefully it has good interior detail! I'm happy about the Aventador release. My expectations of Tamiya releases always remain low!

I'm happy about Aventador, but for 5000 yen it better not suck anything like their 458, and the bloody doors better fit. I already know one person who will probably just tweak out the Maisto Aventador and save $40 in the process
I'm happy about Mugen CRZ, the Countryman is a bit odd but I do kind of like them, and I guess it's a nod to potential rally versions.
Still no 599 GTO :crying:

I thought that would be a NO-BRAINER for Fujimi, maybe later next year, one can hope.
Super excited about the Aventador! Getting the body right is gonna be hard due to all the angles of the body, & hope the doors work well!!

I used to get Fujimi kits out of the closeout bin at my LHS for about the same price of current domestic kit releases. At those prices i could accept some issues with the kits and i always enjoyed putting in some extra effort on otherwise simple curbside builds.
These days the prices are just too high to put up with any issues and the domestic issues of the RoG kits can be found with the same sorts of discounts i enjoyed on the Fujimi kits in the past.
That and the fact i really don't need any more kits makes my choices simpler, I still have a wish list of kits i want though they have to meet a high standard to shake any change out of my pockets these days.
The new glue kit of the TV Batmobile and the Meyers Manx kits on on the list and have a higher chance of coming home with me than anything from Fujimi. Though no one has mentioned the 1/24 scale Spinner coming soon from Fujimi...
There is a BIG jar of change sitting on the table.

A member already built it. In terms of bang for the buck, looks like a good car. Mine is on it's way. Should arrive by the end of the week.

fujimi, in their new 1/43 series, has released a SA Aperta. We could possibly see a 1/24 version down the road, just like how the 1/43 aventador was announced/released before the 1/24 version. I think I'd rather see a GTO before a SA Aperta. Why is Fujimi venturing into pre-built 1/43 territory?

10-06-2011, 01:21 AM
That 1/43 Aventador is a product of True Scale Miniatures, and Fujimi just happens to be True Scale's Japanese distributor, so I don't think True Scale's product release has anything to do with Fujimi's decision to release the car in 1/24 scale. It's like Tamiya's R/C releases usually don't coincide with their 1/24 plastic kits, and that's within the same company!

Maybe it's the translation but it said on the last link you referenced that "...But for 2010 [they] will not be using the Z4." So, this model won't be correct? It's rather odd because after that, it talks about the white version being readied right after the earthquake. I don't get it... Maybe Fuj is making the '11 car?
I guess the bottom line is that the version they're releasing is the "white" version (2011) in the pics?

The usual hobby store posted tons of photos: http://www.hobby-show.info/tokyo2011/index.html
As for the Z4, it's "2010 body style" Z4 GT3, which is currently participating in 2011 Japan Super GT. ;)
(Edit: 2011 GT300 class champion)

It's reportedly the very same car that won Dubai 24h in Jan 2011 (No 76, Need for Speed Z4).

In 2010, GSR briefly teamed up with COX racing (which operates 997 GT3R), and that's the Porsche kit Fujimi released early this year. Fujimi eventually released the presentation version with no sponsor decals for a cheaper price, so they might do the same with Z4. Personally, the real benefit of this Z4 kit is the wheels, which already look good.

I like this thread, reminds me of the what youve bought thread on SPC. Keep us updated with new kits.
BTW I've never seen a SP1 but the last pic looks good in two tone.

sp1 was a one off done by Fioravanti
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_F430#SP1
And as all the one-offs done in maranello, when the REAL new ferrari (458) comes is deadly nicer than this models.

Something I can spread also, Hobby Design was recently on the Murcielago LP670 SV as well as the new Mclaren fax machine, both will come as 1/24 resin full kit, the superveloce is likely to carry a full engine.

You meant 1/24 fresh off the factory and 1/30 a few months later :icon16:

In general, it is cheaper in the US to buy Japanese kits directly from Japan; my GT3R came from Hobbylink Japan. A friend ordered several kits, so postage was split, and the end cost is still considerably less than if somehow the kit does get imported and distributed to the US...which often makes them much more expensive, due to an extra middleman.
Thankfully the US customers don't get any surcharges beyond shipping; no extra taxes for imports. That said, with the rapid devaluation of the dollar vs. the yen, a typical Japanese kit is roughly 50% more expensive now than a few years ago. No wonder the Japanese mail order companies are feeling the squeeze, even now offering discounts.

I hope that aftermarket decalmakers make other decals sets for the BMW Z4.
