I am looking at a 1988 Thunderbird with the 302 HO AND turbo. It has five speed manual in it as well. Can anyone tell me anything about this vehicle? Is there anything to watch out for in particular besides the occasional ticket? I'd also like to find some place to get the HP rating for it as well. This is not a mod....I don't think. I believe it is all stock. Sorry if this has been up before. I couldn't find this info.

Welcome to the forum!
If it's a 302 with a turbo, it's not stock and it's probably been run pretty hard. If it's a "Turbo Coupe" then it's a 4 cylinder.
Since you're asking for information on a specific model, I've moved this to the Thunderbird forum where they will likely be able to give you more specifics on what to look for.

Thanks alot. All I can really tell anyone about the car is that it does in fact look like a Turbo Coupe. It has the boost gauge in it, and it says 302 HO on the sides of the car in line with the pinstriping and it's the same color. I will continue to try to get ahold of the owner to get more info on it.

In the late '80's, Fords performance Thunderbird was the turbo 4 cyl, with a 5 spd option.
302-powered Thunderbirds got a low-output version of the V8.
They never offered the HO version of the 302 in the Thunderbird.
However, this was a somewhat -popular conversion...... take a Turbo Coupe and swap in a Mustang HO 302 and 5 speed in place of the original turbo 4.
It's a straight bolt-in, fairly easy to do and gives you Mustang performance with T-bird room and luxury. The swap works best if you install V8-thunderbird front springs.
If the car is in good shape and works well, it would be an interesting ride.

The exterior of the car is fantastic. Not one spot of rust or dent on it. I think there is a small scratch on the front fender. The pinstripe line was well done also. At the front of each door, just behind the fenders, are the 302 HO letters in perfect line with the striping and the same color. I still have not had any luck in contacting the owner.
