Do any of you with the AWD setup ever turn it "off" and use the 2wd only? If so, does it improve your gas mileage?

Most AWD drives are AWD all time.

AWD uses more fuel ...2wd would give about 3 MPG more with the SAME TYPE VEHICLE ... as mentioned AWD is not designed to be any other configuation...

another negative about AWD , all tires must be matched and rotated.. If not this will lower the MPG and cause drivetrain wear..

This over-optioned soccermom version of what used to be a real truck is turning out to be more pita than what all these options provide. The completely controlled suspension and drivetrain of this luxo-barge is just too overcomplicated and subject to expensive breakdowns.

OTH, it is a very nice ride. ;)

OH...speaking of "ride" I pulled the Autoride airshocks and put in a set of SensaTrac load adjusters with the 1200 lb springs. It feels better already. But....I don't know how it's gonna mess with all the computer controlled junk in the system.
