spedo help

Hello everyone i have a 1995 f150 4x2 automatic with a 302. The spedo and odometer has quit working and the o/d light on the shifter is blinking. i have found that the #18 fuse is blown and blowes a new one when replaced. i have unpluged the vss and it still blows the fuse and the wires at the vss looks good, what else is on the same circuit that i can check and i also noticed a slight smell of burned circuitry somewhere in the cab of the truck. i have looked on the web so i know what vss means but the other short hand people uses confuses me. all help will be greatley appreciated. almost forgot the airbag light used to be on but now it is off

I have a 96/2 wheel and sorry to say I don't have an answer but you deffinitely have a short somewhere. Don't mean to point out the obvious but most commonly you have mice chewing on some wires. Speed sensor coming off the tranny or under the cab going up drivers side to firewall. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck and if you find out, please post. Thanks
