2002 Cavalier 2.2 Low Coolant Light

I have a 2002 Cavalier 2.2l 4cy. stick shift. Yesterday i changed the thermostat, filled the coolant and it started running hot and the Low Coolant Light turned on. I purchased another thermostat and replaced it. Then I found the bleeder screw and could not get any fluid to come up. The engine was still running at about 195 degrees and the low coolant light was still on. I then purchased the sensor for inside the coolant tank and replaced it. Turned the bleeder screw until fluid came out this time. Still having the same problem with the Low Coolant Light. Its hard to see the level of fluid on the side of the tank but it looks close to the cold line. Does anyone know what i should do next?

was the car alright before the stat was changed??
when installing the stat was there a hole in it(this should be pointed up)
what brand was the stat?
you can rebleed the system making sure all air is out
not sure if there are 2 bleeders on engine or just the 1
take a look around the water pump & stat housing for bleeders
alot of cooling systems can be difficult to get the air out
you can try raising the car so the rad cap is higher, so it bleeds easier
Good luck

yes, the car was alright before changing it. It ran hot when in idle, mostly during the summer. It was first changed with a stant and then we changed it with a CarQuest. Installed them the same way the old one came out. I have only found one bleeder and there is a tag on the line saying not to do it while running. Not sure if maybe the hole system needs to be flushed and redone.

is it still running hot or just the low coolant light
dont no why they say dont bleed w/engine running i would
you could open bleeder (engine off)fill rad until fluid
comes out then let it bleed for a few more minutes before closing
