Okay so during my little visit to oregon, getting fed up with all the crap about my car being stock height i had this crazy plan to make my car an SUV of hatchbacks.

I was thinking about getting some LSD on my car and i happen to get Jegs emailer and i went on their online catalog browsing through some shit like ...

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=4564&prmenbr=361

... and then i stumbled on to this ...

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=137006&prmenbr=361

So im wondering since it says i can handle 84-01 civics how hard it would be to install this. I mean, could i just get a friend with some jacks and a good set of tools to do this or would i want to take this to a shop of some kind? I'm almost done paying back my repair bill and its either a new puter or something nifty for the car.

BTW if the links dont work, well ill try again when someone lets me know.

i would say a shop, but it would be a good learning experience for us :D that way i could do it to my car next, your ride could be the guinea pig

hrmm i think this calls for a phone call to greg and see if we could manage this. Yea i think this would be a great project to start on my car. I noticed im REALLY burning oil now so im gonna go get it changed and maybe get that fixed. i should be ready to buy it by the time summer starts. MMMM LSD ...

have you done any research on the CR-V Drivetrain yet? I have managed to have a couple come in the shop, but it has only been the new ones with i think the K series engine in it, i know it was a backwards engine. I still don't think it would be that hard to do, just need someone who knows how to fabricate

i think im gonna go with the wagon drivetrain. its gonna be easier all around, coming off the same wheel base and basic design as my car. plus i think the wagon has all wheel drive and the CRV 4 wheel drive. Now im no truck/jeep kinda guy so i dont know the diffrence, but i think all is better.

All wheel, and 4 wheel are the same. The CRV has 4 wheel drive, all the time, as does the wagon, i think.

plus if we go with wagon drivetrain you can keep your current engine. if we do CRV it'll need to be switched to b-series to work with the crv tranny.

the diff between all wheel drive and 4 wheel drive mainly is a 4 wheel drive has a transfer case, an all wheel drive doesn't. I think that could be the difference, but either way, both wagon and CRV are all wheel drive, i just heard the CRV drivetrain is a little more reliable than the wagon, but it is more complicated because of that wheelbase thing. I felt like an idiot once i remembered what wheelbase was, i got it confused, i was thinking width not length.

yea thats why im thinking i should try for the wagon first so i dont have to fabricate anything ... much much easier that way.

alright, so i was thinking about this and LSD lets me use two of my four tires ...

but if im gona get the all wheel drive drive train im not gonna need the LSD ... so instead im gonna start by adding a front lip to my car. once i get some washers, bolts, and nuts to attatch it im gonna have greg, my personal photographer ( O;> ), take some pics of it with the lip all attatched.
