Taking off rims

For my freinds birthday I was planning on taking off my freind ugly hubs and putting rims on that are pretty nice (i found them in the junk yard but they are pretty mint) but i would like to suprise him by put the rims on in the nite time so when he wakes up he will be like WOW... so might i do that

Make sure he doesn't have a gun...might look like your stealing them. First you need to jack the car up and put stands under it, then use the proper sized socket and a cracking bar to take the nuts off, remove the wheel and replace with the new one...reverse steps to put it on...tighten quite tight but don't over do it.

actually, the first thing you should do (before jacking up the car) is to loosen the lug nuts. then raise the car, remove lugs, etc...

Ditto on the bluetwo method.

Best to bring a torque wrench with and torque to car manufacturer specs - over tightening can warp rotors.
