96 Oil Pan replacement ??

How the heck do I get this oil pan out. I have the engine pushed up about 2 inches and the crossover pipe off and I still can't get the pan out. :runaround::runaround::runaround::runaround::runar ound: Somebody please help me. Thanks inadvance.

Remove the stiffener from the pan when unbolted

Lower the pan to access the oil pump pickup tube-fuel injected 5.0L and 5.8L engines

Remove the two bolts attaching the oil pump pickup tube to the oil pump

Remove the nut attaching the oil pump pickup tube to the No. 3 main bearing cap stud

Lower the pickup tube and screen into the oil pan, then lower the pan from the engine

Well, no thanks to this website but I finished the oil pan job. To anyone who attempts this...It was the biggest pain in the A$$ I ever did in a driveway no less. Don't even attempt this without a cherry picker and patience. Disconnect the fan shroud, air cleaner tube and obviously your motor mount nuts. Jack up engine as high as possible. Unbolt the pan and then you need to reach in and unbolt the oil pump. There's 2 on pump and 1 on the end of a piston arm back toward the tranny. Remove old pan with pump inside it. The trick is the rod that goes from the pump up into the bottom of the engine. You need to have some gear lube and stick it in place. It is damn near impossible to see the hole this rod goes in. Then RTV the new gasket up onto the engine. Slide new pan in with pump inside of it and make sure you don't hit the rod hanging down from the engine.(took me twice) Now the tricky part, you have to reach in and raise pump in position while guiding the rod in the hole on the back of the pump. This has to be done with no mistakes or you will know it once you start the engine and have no oil pressure. After putting the 3 bolts back on, your home free. Before starting the vehicle, you need to get the pump primed. I disconnected my distributor and just let the engine turn over for about a minute. Job was a succes except for bending a couple of fan blades. Total cost was $90 which included new oil pan, gasket, filter and oil. Got price from 2 shops..$750 was cheapest.
