Oil light On

I was driving and the chime went off and I noticed the oil light came on. I was a little late for an oil change (a little over 5000km since last oil change) so I just popped in to a quick oil change place to have the oil change done. Oil level is fine but the light is still on. I tried two times to reset the light by turning the ignition on and pump gas pedal 3 times. (Instructions from the lube place) I figured after a few start stops the light would go out but hasn't yet. I assume this may mean low oil pressure or faulty switch? Temperature gage is behaving normally as well. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark

Personally I would get a mechanical gauge on it to see what the actual oil pressure is before ruining engine if oil pump is bad> It might just be the sensor is faulty but why take the chance.

Dealer changed the oil pressure switch. Light is out for now. We'll see how it goes. Apparently this is fairly common.
