if i change the factory deck to an aftermarket deck, the alarm doesnt work anymore right?? would the lock andunlock buttons on my remote keyless thing work still?

Uhh, it depends what year Cavalier your talking about. 2000 and up have problems when you remove the factory head unit, so what year are we talking about here?

If you change the factory head unit without using the relocation kit(puts the factory HU in your trunk or wherever you want it so that you keep all features) you lose your door chimes and the chimes you get when you leave your lights on. Im not sure if it applies to the 2003 though and I have never heard anything aboutn losing the alarm or door unlock button.

I was told that for my 2000 cavy z24 that if you remove the head unit I will lose function of my power windows, locks, gauges, etc. They said I needed a class 2 data module....Is this all true?
