I just replaced the upper raditaor hose asssembly. Found one for $200 from autopartsdirecttoyou.com. i did this on Friday. Drove the car Friday evening and everything was fine. Followed the direction for bleeding the lines in another post. Didnt drive the car Saturday. Today, Sunday, i go get some gas, leave the gas station, get about a mile away and my POS starts to act sluggish as I come up on a light. At the same time the engine and coolant lights come on. I pull into the nearest parking lot, park and get out the car. To my surprise all my coolant it leaking out from somewhere near the from driver side. I let the car sit for about 30 mins put somemore coolant in it and drive home. Engine light still on but coolant light not. I stop at two lights look under car and see no drips. When i get home and park my coolant is leaking again. Could this be the water pump? If so where is it located? I am also having a misfire on cylinder 5 and my car is running lean. I go to lincoln tech to be a cert mech so i can do the labor myself, just need some guidance. Thanks for the forum!!!

Do the Engine block bleed procedure again, and use a garden hose to force a little water pressure through the system.

If you shorted coolant, because of air pockets this would cause your car to over heat.

was there a problem before the hose was replaced or was it just worn
there are 2 bleeders & the heater bleeder is to be left opened until 75 degrees
on the climate control or till coolant comes out

There was no problem before. The bleeder nozzle had rotted of the hose assembly so i replaced it. I bled both lines and like i said i worked fine for the rest of that day. Two days later, today is when im having this problem

It's not uncommon for the plastic cooling systems parts to all start cracking at close to the same time. Check the other plastic parts of the cooling system, especially including the degas bottle.

Thanks for all the assistance guy. I feel so dumb in saying this, the reason why I leaked all that coolant was because I did not tighten the clank around the hose at the bottom of my thermostat tight enough.

I felt like such an idiot once I found this out!! :banghead:

Thanks again!!

But I also found out I have an oil leak probably through my valve gasket passenger side closest to the firewall. Anyone have steps for fixing this?
