Porsche 910 Martini, Tamiya 1/12

Finished another one!

The kit is the current reissue of the old 1968 Tamiya kit. I got some Decals from Studio 27 for the Martini version, but painted the front cowling.

You notice the age of the kit, lots of flash to sand away from each part. At the end everything fits together - almost, the engine is slightly skewed although I don't see what I did wrong and I had to build a different fixation for the roof, because the original caused the rear cowling to lift. But it is a nice kit, the size alone makes it worth building - how I wish Tamiya had done a 917 in that size... I would have built at least 3.

I painted it with Alclad Alu and Prisma Clear, the front cowling was done with zero paints, the grey Revell Aqua Color, the black also Prisa and the Chroma parts were redone with Alclad on Revell Enamel black as base. I added some cables and did the fuel lines with solder. The kit included some etched parts, but you'll probably only notice the door hinges and the fasteners on the front cowling.
The color seems to be blotchy sometimes, but thats a combination of light and reflections and uneveness on the plastic .
Hope you like it.

I'm not a fan of 910,but this grey version is a nice build.

It is possible to transform the 910 in 917?

Great build - beautiful paint, did you do much polishing?

In reference to the 910, does anyone know how to go about obtaining one of the Two Cats Models' 1/24 scale 910 kits? I have not been able to find these at any of the usual distributors.

I polished hardly at all, I thought it looked good as it is, and those cars were not that shiny, I think.
