Who makes the best? I'm specifically looking for fretless, as I'm sick of cutting and tidying...

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Daniel

I have these and they're good but I need some that have various sizes. The bad thing about this one is that it only has one size (everything is the same size). A lot of the others I've been pointed to (Top Studio, Hobby Design) have various sizes from 0.6mm-1.3mm. That's more what I need.

Thanks!

I've used the Scale Motorsport set, but haven't been particularly happy with it. In 1/24 they all look to me not like hardware, but like flat shiny little bits of photoetch. I suppose it's great for washers, but otherwise it just doesn't seem to look like it is supposed to. :disappoin

As I understand, PE is great for making a nut, but bolt?

What about scale hardware? http://www.scalehardware.com/

I'm mainly looking for bolt heads. That's what can be replicated.

Scalehardware stuff is nice but quite expensive. Look into Calibre35 if you want 3D stuff. Much more economical (360 for $12 vs ~$1 per for metal).

I think I got these from Models and Miniatures of Maryland but I can't find any of their stuff any more. They are awesome. All on a black rubber sheet. If you can find it out there, I think you will like it.

Charlie at ProTech has some good stuff that you may like as well. I have not used his stuff before.

Not PE . . but good detail . . . Detail Associates . . .

Walthers also have brass bolts with no threads and in several different sizes. . .
Seen here on either side of the motor mount (black bar just below the alternator)

I also dont care for the "flat shiny" pieces. Check out Ma's Resin for some cast bolts and nuts. http://public.fotki.com/cnaind/
