Nasty buzzing sound

Hi everyone,
I have a 06 Lucerne CXS with 36000 miles on it and last night I heard a buzzing sound from the instrument cluster. I immediately came to Automotiveforums.com and searched the threads. I found an old thread that has the exact same issue as I did. I didn't want to post in an old thread, but I am having the same issue is quoted below and I am hoping there was some resolution.
"I own a 06 Lucerne CXS, and have been very well pleased with it. That being said, there is one annoying thing that happens, maybe a couple or three times a month. It will emit a "buzzing" sound from somewhere behind the instrument cluster (not like a "fan" noise...more like a buzzer). It's very intermittent, so I've never taken it to the dealer (didn't want them to look at me like I was nuts!). Anyway, 99 percent of the time I can get it to shut up by engaging the turn signal (either direction), however, the other night this "fix" didn't do the trick. Turning off the engine doesn't do the trick either (it keeps buzzing until the door is opened and then stops, only to start back up again when the car is restarted). The next day it was fine, and hasn't buzzed since. Has anyone heard of a problem such as this before?"
Has anyone heard of a fix for this?
Thank you,
Jack

Could be relay chatter- from a relay wearing out, or low volts to it--It is loud- like you can hear it with radio on? Or is it faint?
Best thing to do is try to turn everything you can think of on and off- and to try to pinpoint geographic area- like near fuse box- then feel every circuit breaker, and relay for heat or vibration.

Thanks for the reply!
The sound is loud and can be heard over the radio, almost the same volume as the "chime" that warns you if the seat belt is undone.
(ASSUMPTIONS FOLLOW) It almost seems like the sound is produced by the car through the "chime" speaker as it comes from the same general location. I am thinking that there may be an error in the software of the car and the sound is produced as an anomaly, almost like a feedback whine from an amplifier.
If I have it and the poster from 4 years ago has it, GM most know about it.
Thanks again for the reply!
