I have a 95 k1500 with a v8 5.7 350. My problem is that my truck wont start. It doesnt try to turn over at all. When I try to start it dash lights work and all i hear is one click and thats it. I have replaced the battery and install a new starter and I still have the same problem. Where should i start. Thanks in advanced. Corey

Check both ends of both battery cables. Check voltage at starter, should be 12 volts. Can you turn the engine over by hand (breaker bar and using the dampener bolt)?

As Yukon said, check the battery cables 1st that can cause a lot of problems, from there you may have a bad ignition switch. If it is an automatic, it needs to be in park or neutral, if it has a manual trans. the clutch safety switch needs to work.

sounds like the starter to me... our 88 has done this to us a few times. Our fix is to get a mid sized stick (or something similar) and give the starter a few good love taps.

edit: poor late night spelling corrected lol

with removing and cleaning all connections and grounds this would be / should be done before replacing parts. from the battery to the starter including the starter solenoid to motor connection.

battery should be load tested ..sometimes a battery will open intermittently...most times it is the connections.

If a starter still has a poor cranking issue then the starter or if possible the solenoid should be checked/replaced for defects/worn contacts. checking the starter bushing and flywheel for damage correct alignment..
