Ran across this doing research for a project. It;s about the Project Engineer at Heller Models who designed their model cars in the 60's. Very fascinating especially the fact he got to drive a Matra F1 car.

Neat link! Interesting that some of those kits are still produced today. I'm fairly sure the "new" Fujimi 512S is the old Heller kit by way of Protar. The Union 330P4 may not be as accurate as the Fujimi but it does have an engine. I was surprised the 917K was originally an LH but got "updated" before production. Heller made some nicely detailed models in their time. I still have a couple of 1/8th scale motorcycles that are 340 pieces each. The springs are steel wire you wind around a nail! LOL (Well, technically the "nail" is a plastic mandrel molded onto the sprue like the other parts.
For the monster Heller car model check out the 1/8 Citroen build thread http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=1061276

Very cool! I was doing a similar search not too long ago looking for the box art. I have most of the models mentioned and indeed they are very detailed for the time. Really wish they would have done the two Matras.

I've lost a part for my Heller Bentley Blower kit. It's the air intake (intercooler?), part #65. I hate to buy a whole new kit for just that one part. I tried HLJ, and they've closed down their spares department. Any ideas where I can find that item?

really cool website. coming from another era.
Like so much his technical drawings, this guy had a great experience working for Heller.
and yes, also to me considering the time, they were very nice and well detailed.
