I'm pretty sure that CD wished its death many times over from overuse.

The first two that come to mind are :
"Cannon Ball" - The Breeders and "Unsung" - Helmet. My musical tastes back then were all over the place and there was a period of time after the early hip hop of the early '90s that I like alternative music from the early to mid '90s.
Also add to that list The Smithereens and Collective Soul.
