Sunfire GT vs Sentra SE-R

Hi,

My friend has a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-r with a 2.5 liter 165hp engine and the only mod he has is a Apexi N1 muffler.

My other friend has a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire GT with a 2.4 liter 150 hp engine and the only mod he has is a short ram intake.

They both think they can beat each other and I think they are gonna race in a few weeks or so.

They are both automatics so it wont come to skill, just pedal to the metal.
They aer gonna race by out local airports straight road marked off for the 1/4 mile. People race there all the time, no cops or people.

well, I have driven his Se-r and I give it credit it is pretty fast.
But I have rode in his Sunfire and its pretty fast also.
I'm willing to put my money on the Se-r but who knows the sunfire could surpirze us.

What do you guys think?

The pontiac sunfire will win. Sometimes cars get over rated.

ok, so explain how a car that weighs 100 lbs more w/ LESS power is going to beat the other? that sure does make a lot of sense...sorry, but the sentra has this one. unless the sunfire SOMEHOW can drive his auto WAY better then the guy in the sentra...

Nismo baby. hahaha anyways, i never knew that SE-R's came auto? well jsut for the record. sport compact car did a SE-R with bolt ons, + the removal of hte counter balancing shafts and the car gained 35 hp at the wheels. now thats what i call power potential

Sentra, no question. When you're powered by an Opel engine you can't win.

TatII - SER's can come auto, it's the SpecV's that are only manuals (I think?)



Anyways, Sentra should have it.

yeah the Spec V has the Helical LSD, 6 speed, Kickass Seats, 17" wheels, and 185hp I believe.

The 6 speed in the Spec V is the same one used in the Hyundai Tiburon V6's, and the LSD bolts right in to the 6 speed Tiburon.

i'd go for the Spec-V, but i didnt kno it had the Tiburon's 6 speed manual?

If the SE-R has as nearly as much torque as the SpecV it wont even be close.
