my 98 blazer had been sitting for 5 days. i went to go start it and heres what happens:
-turn the key for accessories and dash lights come on fuel pump humms
-5 speed so push the clutch in and no start, starter is engaging normally and if i step on the gas a little i can smell gas so assume(i know the mantra)b/4 testing things are normal
now ive read some threads on here and it seems i need the test the battery, starter, and ignition components. but something weird happened, a least it was weird to me. if i put the shifter in 2nd or 5th and try to start it, about 5 seconds into it starting the engine kind of cranks and you get that feeling like the next time you turn the key i will start but it doesn't. ive tried poppin the clutch with little roll no good(ive done it b/4 in this truck) and thats the weird thing. when the engine almost turns over with the key, it tries to turn over the way it would if you were poppin the clutch. ? i hope im painting a good picture and not some abstarct bs that no one will get. like i said ive read some threads but the ones ive read didn't have that one lil dieseling symptom. so any help would be great.
i also tried juming it and even left the cables on for 10 min b/4 trying to start, and the battery died(in the blazer) while being connected to another car(honda).so any commets or ridicule will be greatly appreciated.

when's the last time you replaced the cap and rotor and plugs?
make sure you use ac delco brand cap and rotor.
i assume you mean it's cranking really slow, but wont turn all the way over enough to start?
could def be a bad battery. you can take it out and autozone (or anywhere for that matter) will charge and test it for free.

thanks viggy will definatly take bat out and take it somewhere. as for the rotor and cap and plugs will have to wait for some decent weather. not payin to get it towed unless i have to. just out of curosity on a side note have you ever had to pop the clutch in yer blazer, i see u have a 5spd as well. someone told me its impossible to do b/c of the passlock but ive done it at least once or twice a year since ive owned it(goin on 7 yrs).

i've def popped the clutch in mine several times. as long as the key is in the "run" position, it'll pop.
you basically could be looking at 3 basic problems:
dead battery
low fuel pressure
loss of spark.
test the battery first, because a bad battery could cause the other to problems. then go from there.

Sounds like a symptom of low fuel pressure. Key ON, engine OFF, fuel pump running: pressure must be 60psi to 66psi and must remain above 55psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off.
