05 Malibu Maxx VIN# question

How can I tell if my car is supposed to come with key-less entry and remote start from the vin#.

I just happen to have the '05 Malibu brochure nearby....today is your lucky day. Don't ask why, please, let's just say I'm working on cleaning out my office closet, no, really!

Remote keyless was standard on all '05 Maxxes (LS and LT). Remote Start was optional, as part of Preferred Equipment Group 1SB, that also included Power Drivers Seat and Curtain and Thorax Air Bags, on LS's. So, if it's got those, it is on yours....LTs (easily identified by leather and foglights) had both keyless and remote start standard.

Until I get rid of my '04 Maxx, I'll hang on to the brochures ('04-'07). They just made their way into the "keep" pile....

Well mine has the power drivers seat but as far as I can tell no curtain airbags, while looking around someone said that if my key had a + on it that it came with remote start any idea if that's correct?

1. I guess you don't have the fobs?

I guess not... just bought it and came with one key that's it. Is there any other way to tell and yes wpbharry it's an LS.

Not that I know of first owner was in Ohio second in KY then us in KY

Excellent point. Previous GM rental units (how stupid, but that's how they got super low fleet pricing...) don't have all of the retail features. No idea about the + on the key. Mine has it.

The + on the key is transponder key, the key sends a signal to the security module.
