Gas Filter Number

I purchased a new fuel filter off the internet. I checked the Kia number off the fuel filter with my Alldata and the number was the same. It fit fine but had one small difference one part had teeth and a plug in the bottom. Any the 31911-FD500 didn't have the plug and bypassed the fuel and the engine wouldn't start. I called the Kia dealer and they said they never sold a fuel filter. The put in on a parts locater and one about 70 miles away had a filter. The larger dealer at the Mall of Georgia didn't have a filter either.
Apparently a lot of customers are paying but not getting a new filter.
I ordered a 31911-3E200 which I hope is the correct filter from dealer direct parts.
This is a 2006 Kia Sorento 3.5L.
