1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 151,187, no mods. And thanks to this website it's never ran better since I purchased back at the end of 2004 with 84,000 miles. Replaced UIM
and LIM gaskets around 110,000 and replaced my valve cover gaskets while we were in there. Replaced Struts with KYB GR2's at 100,000. Very minimal rust so far. I would like to keep it for at least another 50,000 miles.

I have a 98 GTP silver 4 door all stock except for U-bend, resonator, and cat being replaced with straight pipe a while back. Fully loaded. Current millage is just over 231k miles. The car is in a sad rusty state that would make any GTP fan frown. The super charger unhooked, there's a rust hole in the driver side rear quarter. Recently a baby seat has been added to the rear seat. Never saw that coming when I go the car in spring of 2000 lol. The car is not nearly as fast as it used to be thats for sure. Ahhh the old days cruising in the gtp.... nowadays its a go to work car slowly rusting into oblivion. Rust found its way into the rear strut towers a few years ago, and the rockers, and back doors. My plan is to bet a similar grand prix GT or SE and put my engine into it some day but for now I want to try and get 300k out of this car.

I was going to comment "Nice Ride Bob" until I saw your personal license plate. At least now when I move to texas, I'll know exactly which car is yours by "Tim Sucks" as your plate.

I'm 24 Bob, so I get raped for car insurance. I was interested in a GXP 2 summers ago and drove a few. Found a nice Black one, loaded, '06, 38,000mi, for $12,000. Ready to put 5000 down and my GTP. Then I checked insurance and it was over double what I was paying. So I stuck with what I have. Might just commute the crap out of the alero until I get a better job, then sell both alero and GTP and buy a GXP or G8! But thats just a dream I guess. Something always goes wrong with the GTP, and as I'm fixing it I'm thinking "I ought to sell this thing" but once its fixed, its still in such good condition and runs so good I'd hate to give it away cause it isn't worht anything.

I have a 1999 Grand Prix GTP with a little over 125k on the clock. It has been in the family since we bought it used in 2003. The car is nearly stock with only a ZZP downpipe and PCM. Just finished tuning her up this past week with plugs, wires, filters, oil and tranny fluid change. Also added a ZZP shift kit, but haven't had the time to play with it yet.

Thanks rick. Yeah I luv that TAPshift. :grinyes:

There shouldn't be too much difference in our interiors. One difference would be the IP Panel. Pontiac put that knurled finish on like the old Trans Ams had. How do you like the enhanced DIC for '04 and up? Much better than the previous generation and alot more data.

99 GTP, 155,000 miles. It's had very few problems and has been very reliable. Still runs great, although it has lost some acceleration since her younger days.

I'd consider getting another car, but I don't want to hand the GTP down to the kids!

Pictures of a dirty, stock, white GTP would be pretty boring, even embarrassing next to those already posted.

Trust me it is not as fast as a stock GTP. I had the same car you did with the intake, pcm, hv3, ER rockers, powerlog, 2.5 downpipe, all poly mounts, every suspension mod, shift kit, full 2.5 inch cat back with magnaflows, resonator delete, fuel pump rewire, alternator rewire, ported LIM, 85mm maf, ported exhaust manifolds, and more. I thought the same thing as mine until I bought a GTP Comp G. Way faster, better acceleration and almost unlimited mod options.

Way faster, better acceleration and almost unlimited mod options.

I agree. And you can go broke modding a L32 aka supercharged Series III 3800 engine or L67 for that matter. We used to have a member named Jeff several years ago. I think he was either a momma's or daddy's boy. Bottom line is he had deep pockets for mods. Modded his '04 GTP Comp G to where he got it down well below 12 sec. in the 1/4 mile. 11.5? Plenty of proof in timeslips out someplace in California. Full intercooler, modded Gen 5 blower, internal engine mods, reworked 4T65E-HD transaxle, cam, roller rockers, etc.

I later found out he went through a few engines too in the process.
