G'day guys.... I know this is a WIP fourm on model bikes which is what my question is directed to, I want to the convert Tamiyas Ducati Desmosedici into Casey Stoners GP9 (Phillip Island Markings) I know you can get decals for the GP Ducati. But looking for reference pics for the bike I notice the exhaust configuration is different between the two. Is this because I have the superbike version (Troy Bayliss)and not the Motogp version? If anyone can help with reference material to make these changes it would be greatly appreciated! I have looked on the net with not much luck

ah, the Philip island bike is a beauty. Great choice.
The ducati desmocedici you are refering to is an older model. In 2004 it was a 990cc. The 2009 desmocedici is a 800cc. The desmosedici is a motgp bike. The superbike is the 1198, which i wish there was a kit for.
At first site the bikes don't look that different, but there are quite a few differences.
The 2004 bike has four exhausts where the 2009 has two exhausts( 2 x 2 in 1 ). Location is the same though.
The tail sections of the bikes are totally different.
The side fairings are quite different too. Even between the earley '09 version and the phillip island version.
Underneath the fairings you'll find that the 2004 model has the trellis (tube) frame, where the 2009 has a carbon fiber chassis.
The engines are not that different.
So turning the GP4 to a GP9 is guite some work if you want it to be perfect.
Max motomodeling (http://www.motomodeling.com look under prototype) started a project turning the GP4 into the early version GP9. If you look closely i think you'll find that the '04 and the '09 bikes don't have a lot in common.
I don't know if they will produce this prototype as a transkit.
They do have a transkit for the GP7 which is a bit closer to the Phillip island bike.
Maybe now that Rossi is riding for Ducati tamiya will produce Ducati kits again, which would be nice.
I hope this answers your questions.
