Blinking green light-around accelerator pedal?

I was driving the new Suburban yesterday...the 2005 one we just bought, and my son noticed a blinking green light that flashed intermittently. It looks to be coming from above the accelerator pedal, somewhere in the great beyond!

It still flashes when the vehicle is turned off as well. I have never had a vehicle do this before and I have no idea what it is or could be.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I don't know if it is something to worry about or something that needs repair.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Sure it is not part of an aftermarket alarm?--is it on a separate wire? is it on a black box? 2005 is a used vehicle- so the previous owner may have had an alarm or remote starter installed. Do you have OEM remotes for the door locks? with GM symbols? or do they say some other brand name on them?

Could be an impending failure of a component of the DBW throttle system if there is a flashing light, but since this is the first I've heard of a blinking green light...someone else might want to chime in.

The fact that it is a green light, as opposed to red or yellow, I would think suggests it's not a problem needing to fixed, but rather letting you know something is OK or ready to go. (The color of warning lights normally tell you how serious an issue it is)
