water pump rebuilding is not done in todays world where I live . perhaps in your area this is still being done to save a few dollars.

jcat, if you actually had a clue you would understand he is talking about the seal for the driveshaft of an LT1 waterpump. Go read another manual and regurgitate the info poorly.

I have had good luck with a deep socket others like to use a sharpie cap. You just need to find something it slips over a little snug to stop the inner seal from inverting when you slide it over the drive.

well he did not say it was the water pump cam shaft gear seal that drives the water pump. thats is no big deal to pop off and replace like you stated. I have a picture of all this ..
